Queen is Britain’s Dream Festival Act, What's Yours?

Thousands of voters chose Queen, one of Britain’s most iconic rock bands, to headline their “ideal” music festival, followed by Coldplay, Muse and the Beatles.

The results were taken from a competition, hosted by online ticket marketplace, GET ME IN!, which prompted people to submit their ultimate festival acts in order to win £100 to spend on tickets.

Out of the Top 20 artists’ category, only one quarter were formed after the year 2000, and the majority – including the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Jimi Hendrix – were all performing in the 1960s, implying that many still have a soft spot for US and UK classic acts.

To see the full list of results, have a look at the ultimate festival infographic.

Author: Max Burchard writes in association with Get Me In! and has a history in music journalism and reporting from live events in the UK. He provided support to the company for their latest project, the Ultimate Festival Line-up, which collated thousands of artists’ votes into a top-20 list.
