Hello everyone on MTT!
I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to listen to my new album, containing 5 tracks…
“Shades of the Pauliphonic Canvas”, available here:
Fires, floods, volcanoes, vision quests in the wilderness. Ya know, the typical musician stuff. Throw in science, technology and a stunning array of musical skills, and you’ve got a standard issue day for ambient electronic folk rocker Max Carmichael, whose first commercial release was praised by the Village Voice, resulting in a headline gig at New York’s Knitting Factory. With a style placing him in such varied and storied company as Paul Simon, Calexico, Moby, and U2, it’s no surprise that Carmichael’s work is continually surprising, yet comfortably familiar. It’s a truly unique blend of the Bohemian, the idealist, the nerd, and the adventurer. It’s the sound of a complex sophisticated nature boy with just enough dogma to keep him tense and just enough liberation to keep him potent.
Bassist Erik “Eski” Scott has played with alt-rockers Sonia Dada and shock rocker Alice Cooper. But don’t let that scare you away from his album, Other Planets, a beautiful instrumental recording with sensuous electric bass leads that shows what a bass can sound like when a great melodicist leads the way….haunting moods and heartbreaking melodies.” John Diliberto, Producer, Echoes.org.
Icky’s Ego: LA’s Avante-Garage Rock Experience.
Icky’s Ego is the ambient/hard-hitting rock collaboration of Los Angeles based musicians David Crocco, Cela Scott, Philo Brathwaite and Vreny Van Elslande.
The band spends their daylight hours sequestered in the Hollywood Hills with producer extraordinaire Brian D. Hardin, investigating sonic landscapes and mental meltdowns.
She wouldn’t be comfortable saying it herself, of course, but some might call Sharon Gannon a rock star of the yoga world. The co-founder of the pivotal Jivamukti yoga method, she’s known worldwide as an influential teacher and advisor, and continues to help legions of students gain enlightenment via her own classes and those at Jivamukti-affiliated schools and centers around the globe, as well as through books and instructional DVDs. In truth, however, Sharon is a 21st-century Renaissance woman, one who excels in many disciplines, such as dance, writing, poetry, painting, cooking, and political activism. But before everything else—even yoga—her first medium is, and has always been, music.
Einaudi blends evocative piano minimalism with almost impressionist touches of ambient electronica, strings, and percussion. His new record, Nightbook, is as definitive a collection as you can expect from a music that is essentially indefinable but if you’re a fan of film, television, or even basketball, you’ve probably already heard his music.
