Antigua by Dusty and the Lovenotes

Dusty and The LoveNotes is a modern day folk-rock band with a varied and strong Americana sound. Dusty Recor, the fearless leader, has always taken the road less traveled. Her lead guitarist, Indian Joe, is an old soul who started teaching himself piano at the age of 5. Their debut CD, “What Did You Expect?” is a collection of stories taken from the experiences of her life. As the name suggests, it’s probably not what you’d expect.

Water's Edge by Simon Fagen

Simon Fagan is not our typical Irish singer songwriter. Blending elements of gospel and folk with acoustic rock, Simon and band produce a big Americana sound. He’s opened for both Lionel Richie and Smokey Robinson and has sold out shows in Ireland, The UK and Egypt.

Clarion by Tin Pan

Tin Pan connotes a world from the past – the most dominant and enlightened strains of American music of the early part of the 20th century – jazz, blues and American popular song. But it would be a mistake to say that Tin Pan is fixed in that past. Rather, it is music created to be enjoyed profoundly and joyously in the present. The band has created a rabid following by playing music that resonates powerfully because its intention is pure – to make people dance, smile and conjure with the spirit of music itself. On their new album, Hound’s Tooth, the band has perfected their sonic vision – effortless, wondrous and festive, feeling much like, as the band describes themselves, Ray Charles and Tom Waits at a Bourbon Street Parade.

Moving On by The Famous

Take the ‘50s-era country of Hank Williams, Sr. and filter it through ‘70s punk rock, ‘80s psychobilly, and ‘90s post-punk. You’ll find yourself staring eye-to-eye with San Francisco’s own “Pixies in a cowboy hat.”

Nighttime Businessman - Don Sprik

Nighttime Businessman - Don Sprik

Veteran rock singer, Don Sprik, has titled his fourth CD Nighttime Businessman. These two words likely conjure up everything from graveyard shift workers, to lovers that no doubt ‘get around.’ But Sprik’s intention with this new disc’s title track is not quite so dreary as putting in man hours during the middle of the night, nor does it refer to some kind of late night Lothario. Instead, this gravelly-voiced singer is, instead, referring to the greatly underappreciated job of empathetic friendship. In this particular case, he’s playing the listening ear to a woman who has surely been done wrong. “It’s a song about just trying to come along side of her,” Sprik explains, “not trying to give her a bunch of advice, but just trying to be there.”

Pockets Full of Gold - Danika Holmes

Pockets Full of Gold - Danika Holmes

Americana singer/songwriter Danika Holmes states, “Through my songs I hope to touch hearts in the tough times, as well as celebrate life in the good time.”

Danika first sat at a piano as a tot, has been writing since her teens, and picked up guitar in her 20’s.  After an attempt at a normal career and nearly finishing her PhD,  Danika’s heart pulled her full circle back to where she started, with music.

Cowboy Movie by 8 Ball Aitken

Cowboy Movie by 8 Ball Aitken

Coming from a farming community in Far North Queensland, 8 Ball Aitken is the oldest son of an impoverished family of twelve children. 8 Ball spent his adolescence on a banana plantation, living in a rough tobacco shed with resident rats, bats, snakes, and spiders as his sleeping companions. He started work as a farm labourer aged fifteen, doing back-breakingly hard work on the mango and banana plantations of the Atherton Tablelands, a man’s work for a boy’s pay. He had to help support his family with these wages.

The Voice of Your Soul by Jimmy Philip Pillar

The Voice of Your Soul by Jimmy Philip Pillar

So I started to think about the people that came in and out of my life and decided to write honest musical statements about what had transpired. If I hurt you, I’m sorry. If you hurt me, it’s hurts. If I’ve wronged you, I’m sorry, please, I beg your pardon. Once I took music from this point of view the songs started to flow almost effortlessly.
