Need You Now, American Honey, Own The Night, Dancin’ Away With My Heart- these famous country songs are some of Lady Antebellum’s greatest hits. Lady Antebellum is an American country music band formed in 2006. This new band is composed by three talented artists namely Hillary Scott, the vocalist, Charles Kelley the background vocals, and Dave Haywood the guitar, piano, or mandolin player. This band was immediately recognized just within a year after performing. Their first recording debut which is a rendition of Jim Brickman’s “Never Alone” reached number 14 in the Billboard’s Adult contemporary chart. The band’s first album was released on April 15, 2008 and had reached number one on Billboard Top Country Music Albums.
This group was nominated for four Grammy awards and has taken Best Country Performance by Duo or Group from their single “I Run To You”. Their single “Need You Now” has been awarded as the Song of the Year and Record of the Year at the 44th Grammy awards.
This group started their humble beginnings in Nashville, Tennessee when Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood decided to write music together. They were middle school classmates in the University of Georgia and since Charles Kelley (the brother of pop and country music artist Josh Kelley) wanted to become a successful country music artist he convinced Haywood to form a group. Hillary Scott was the daughter of country singer Linda Davis. Scott actually, had auditioned for American Idol, but she got rejected twice according to an interview. She had met Kelley thru MySpace. Fortunately, their same interest about country music drove Kelley to invite Scott. Scott agreed to team up with them and Lady Antebellum was born. Their group name “Lady Antebellum” was created when they were taking pictures in front of the antebellum architecture in historic Franklin. They liked the sound of Lady Antebellum and so, decided to make it their official group name. Antebellum actually meant before the war, and they meant this as the time before the American Civil War.
In July of 2007, they signed their first recording contract with Capitol records.  Thousands of fans all over the world just love their good and subtle music. Songs about the loved missed, longing and lost love are one of Lady Antebellum’s ingredients to catch the listener’s heart.
Their new country songs as of this year (2012) are Friday Night, As You Turn Away, Wanted You More and Just A Kiss - which has become one of Lady Antebellum’s greatest country songs of today.
