- Entered the German Album Charts at number 94
- Number 2 on the Independent Newcomer Charts for December 2013
- Hip hop artist supported by Bundesliga players like Jakub Blaszczykowski and Moritz Leitner

The year 2014 had hardly started when the Berlin-based music distributor recordJet reported that another of its passengers had entered the charts. In charts week 2/2014 (survey period 20-26 December, 2013), the hip hop artist M.I.K.I entered the German charts at number 94 with his album “Malochersohn”, and is currently placed between international stars like Katie Melua and Kings of Leon. Charts week 2 is known as one of the toughest sales weeks of the calendar year due to the Christmas shopping season.

The album “Malochersohn” even reached number 2 in the Top 20 Independent Newcomer Charts for December.

What makes M.I.K.I and “Malochersohn” so special is the amount of support from the soccer world. That’s how M.I.K.I, passionate supporter of Borussia Dortmund, ended up being invited to Poland by player Jakub Blaszczykowski to perform at the opening of his spa. Even soccer player Moritz Leitner is a professed fan of M.I.K.I.

“M.I.K.I is our latest passenger, after Milky Chance, to enjoy chart success”, commented Jorin Zschiesche, Captain and cleaning lady of recordJet. “The fact that we made it into the charts with a newcomer in the highly competitive Christmas week makes us incredibly happy and shows M.I.K.I’s huge potential. Now we’ll pop some corks because the Captain and his crew can party just as hard as soccer players can”.

The recordJet crew has known for quite some time that soccer and music are compatible. In May 2012, their passengers “room77”, which includes former FC Bayern Munich player Andreas Görlitz, reached a respectable spot in the charts with their song “Finale dahoam”. “Finale dahoam” was chosen as the theme song for the Champions League final between FC Bayern Munich and FC Chelsea.
