San Francisco, CA - In response to the popularity of previous artist development seminars, The Rights Workshop will be hosting Make Music, Make Money: Get Paid To Write Music on Thursday November 19, 2009 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. This intimate evening session sheds light on the mechanics of writing music as a business and shows composers and songwriters how to turn a creative pursuit into a lucrative career.

 

Rights Workshop founder Brooke Wentz, who has 25 years of experience licensing music and hiring composers for films, television shows and brand campaigns, will deliver a crash course on music business basics for composers and songwriters. Guest speakers Marc Capelle and Monte Vallier, who have written music for brands like Macy’s, Adobe and Odwalla, and television networks like HBO/Cinemax and The Food Network, will speak about how to get gigs and successfully break into the business.

Admission is $45 per seminar.  Walk-in registration is permitted, subject to space availability and an additional fee of $5. 

 

Alumni Discount- Attendees of previous Make Music, Make Money seminars who bring a friend to the event will receive a $10.00 discount off the registration fee.

 

Demo Review Session- A demo review session will held for after the seminar. Attendees may submit their music to receive direct and frank feedback on creative and commerciality of the production, as well as advice and strategy on marketing.

 

Music Industry Mixer- A music industry mixer will be held after the seminar from 9 pm to 10:30 pm to provide an opportunity to network with industry professionals.  All seminar attendees may invited to attend.
