A Word To Aspiring Rappers On Memorial Day

On this Memorial Day, I want to give a quick word of advice to aspiring rappers.

You are your own best resource. Nobody wants to see you win more than you. Nobody wants to see you happy more than you. Nobody wants to see you successful more than you.

If you get tired or frustrated, so will your progress. If you are lazy or irresponsible, then your movement will be too. If you are bitter and have an attitude that the world owes you, then you’ll be expected to pay even more.

Nobody will “make” you famous or “put you on” without YOUR OWN HARD WORK. (Unless they’re gonna sign you & promote you & rape you of all the money.)

Understand that everybody isn’t built for the music industry. It’s not to be done as a hobby or based on a desire to become famous. You’ve got to be ready to sacrifice it all in pursuit of success in this business.

So before you gripe and cry about how hard you work or how many dues you’ve paid…..understand that in music – especially rap – you NEVER stop paying dues or working hard or grinding. Gaining 100,000+ fans takes years and money and sweat and tears – then one wack song and u can lose em all overnight.

Success in music is a process. It takes time and effort and money (YES it does take money – lots of it).

So on this Memorial Day as we honor the soldiers who gave their lives in defense of our country. I want you to reflect on your attitude about your music career.

Are you a soldier willing to train hard and fight harder in order to win? Willing to lay it alllllllll on the line in pursuit of victory??

Or…..

Are you somebody who just wants attention and thinks it’s easy to get rich and famous by rapping??

If you’re not a WARRIOR for yourself in your career…..

If you’re not actively in the trenches winning over fans and conquering new territory EVERY DAY…..

If you’re not dedicating time to learn the business end of music…..

If you’re not studying and planning PROVEN WAYS to succeed……

Then you’re gonna find it EXTREMELY hard to grow and build and win in music.

Just like everybody can’t be an NFL or NBA star — everybody can’t be a rap star either. Only a few will make it. Those few are the warriors who will out-train, out-study and out-work everyone else.

What are you going to do for you????
