Stacey Cohen crowdfunds ‘the Archer’ – new folk album

Stacey Cohen, North Wales folksy-blues singer and songwriter raised £3550 via crowdfunding to record her new album ‘The Archer’.

Stacey’s engaging ‘crowdfunding regime’, with daily tasks and fun social media updates, helped secure over 40% of her funding target in the final 48 hours of her campaign on PleaseFund.Us. The new album, called ‘The Archer’, was within an inch of life until just an hour of the campaign deadline.

Now Stacey has the job not only of recording her best songs but also of rewarding her 131 generous backers, who are proudly helping make new folk music happen. With rewards ranging from combinations of limited-edition album USBs, T-shirts to singing sessions in London area, the success of her crowdfunding campaign will not only help Stacey record her album, but will also create a genuinely shared experience for folk music lovers.

Since starting her singing career over six years ago, Stacey energized UK’s folk venues with her magnetic voice and performed at Glastonbury (2010,2011), Glade Festival and the Beat-Herder Festival in 2012. With her distinctive musical style, Stacey will appear for an official release of the Archer at the Imbolc, annual festival which celebrates the awakening of the land and growing power of the sun in February next year.

Co-founder of PleaseFund.Us James Bailey says, “One of the reasons we started PleaseFund.Us is to support great and talented people like Stacey achieve their dreams. It doesn’t matter what you do and what genre you are performing in; having the support and opportunity to do something is all that counts”.
