Audio Network Announces Partnership with On My Blocks Films

As “Official Music Sponsor” Audio Network will provide music access to support this New York City filmmaking initiative.

New York, NY - Production music library Audio Network has partnered with New York City filmmaking imitative On My Block Films as Official Music Sponsor.
On My Block Films (OMB) invites New York City residents from all five boroughs to create and complete a one to five minute feature short or documentary film on their block using only residents of the block as cast and crew in an effort to strengthen communities through the collaborative filmmaking process.
Audio Network will provide entrants with free and unlimited access to their catalogue of over 53,000 original tracks for use in their film. Co-founder of OMB Ryan O’Hara Theisen says “Our filmmakers will be able to craft distinctively unique soundscapes as they benefit from Audio Network.”
EVP of Audio Network US Jason Langley shares this enthusiasm, “We are thrilled to be partnering with On My Block.  Audio Network knows the importance of music for films, along with rights and clearance and we are proud to provide entrants with a high quality resource to score their film.”
Now through October 31, all eligible films will be shot, posted and screened online from the time they are finished until November 1, 2012. The public will be able to vote on a film by liking it on Vimeo. The 30 films with the most Vimeo likes will move on to be judged by a panel of the first week of November. The top 15 films will be screened at an outdoor festival in November. Awards will be presented for Best Narrative Film, Best Documentary Film and Best In Show.  For more information visit the OMB website, www.onmyblockfilms.com.

About On My Block Films
Started in 2012 by a group of friends who realized that although they lived in a city of more than 8 million people and loved their neighborhoods, most of them didn’t have close relationships with their neighbors. By forming OMB, their goal is to capture a wide spectrum of neighborhoods throughout the five boroughs including residents of religious centers and senior centers, homeless shelters, coops and even prisons as a way to connect people with their community.
